NICHOLAS HALL
La Biennale Internazionale dell’Antiquariato di Firenze (BIAF) 2019 – stand 8
Palazzo Corsini
Via Parione 11, Florence
Italy
21 – 29 September 2019

Nicholas Hall is pleased to participate in the 31st edition of the Florence International Antiques Fair (BIAF). The exhibition features works by Mariotto Albertinelli, Dirck van Baburen, Martino di Bartolomeo, Carlo Maratti, Matteo di Pacino, Giovanni Paolo Panini and Antonio Tempesta, among others. Thirteenth-century gargoyles and nineteenth-century plein-air paintings bookend the seven centuries of art presented.

The design of the exhibition space pays tribute to the celebrated architect Carlo Scarpa, whose contribution to postwar Italian architecture include the reconstruction of historical buildings as museums, most notably, the Museo di Castelvecchio in Verona and Palazzo Abatellis in Palermo, as well as the first six rooms of the Uffizi in Florence. Special stands andarchitectural elements have been commissioned for the booth to evoke Scarpa’s vision and to complement each object.
